VAMPIRE SMACKDOWN: Buffy vs Twilight!

When SMG met R-Patz...

In case you hadn't noticed The 'Brain are pretty much in holiday mode - as opposed to how we are the rest of the time *cough* - but we just wanted to reassure our fans (*cough*) that we still love the interwebs.

To celebrate I offer you my favourite YouTube clip from last year that my sister for
warded on to me (thanks, Sarah!). Without further ado, here is Buffy vs Edward: Twilight Remixed. Observe...

Advantage: Buffy.

The 2009 Brainies Awards

The 2009 Brainies: theunibrain's First Annual Boxing Day Awards for Excellence In Entertainment and Stuff.

Death of the year
Carolyn: Michael Jackson. I still can’t believe it’s happened and I still half-think that it’s yet another of his media manipulations and he’ll “return from the dead” for a Comeback Tour in 2015.

Scott: There can be no disagreement here.

But without tragedy we wouldn’t have had:
Carolyn: Corey Feldman of The Two Coreys fame arriving to Jacko’s memorial dressed as… Michael Jackson
Scott:
Or Marlon Jackson coming out of hiding. Oh, and MJ's kids being unveiled. So THAT's what Blanket looks like without a blanket over him!

Reunion of the Year
Carolyn: Seinfeld cast on Curb Your Enthusiasm – sure, it made no sense when the episodes aired out of order in Australia but it was hells worth it just for the exchange between Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld about Christopher Walken. “I don’t know why he was on the boat.” Damn straight.
Scott: Andy Dick and sobriety.

Movie of the Year
Carolyn: The Hangover cos next week's no good for me... The Jonas Brothers are in town. But any week after that, it's totally fine.
Scott: Really the only movie I liked as much as The Hangover this year was Star Trek. Who ever would have seen that coming? Thanks JJ!

Worst Movie of the Year
Scott: In a year that brought us Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, Bride Wars, Land Of The Lost and The Lovely Bones, we were really spoiled for choice. But the winner has to be
2012; tired format, tired script, several decent actors totally slumming it. Paranormal Activity, meanwhile, was the least scary scary movie of all time. I fell asleep.
Carolyn: I saw Meg Ryan in The Women on DVD this year. Do not make the same mistake. However, the movie at the cinemas that made me the most angry was The Ugly Truth. Just a poor effort all round and that part with the hot air balloons? Are we even gonna pretend that wasn't green screen? I realise it's 2009 but how hard is it to take out a real hot air balloon and film it? Not very, I say. PS: 2012 was disaster-tastic and I didn't hate Bride Wars. Is that wrong?

Song The 'Brain CLEARLY made a huge hit (maybe): Sam Clark's "Broken". Well done Sam! Well done us! It's time to take another listen...

Australian star who would do well to get to America cos he's awesome: Sam Clark.

Stars we like the best who rhyme: Kylie and Miley

Stars we like the best who rhyme and who should thusly record a duet asap: Kylie and Miley.

Song of the Year
Carolyn: I want to give my vote to "3 Little Words" by Frankmusik but it was snatched out of his hands at the last minute by Lady Gaga’s "Bad Romance". Sorry Frankster.
Scott: I went to my iTunes play count for this answer. It was also Gaga! But very close runners-up are "Beat Again" by JLS, "Who Says" by John Mayer, "Break Your Heart" by Taio Cruz and "Battlefield" by Jordin Sparks.

TV Show of the Year
Carolyn: I want it to be Glee but to be honest if it wasn’t for Jane Lynch, I wouldn’t still be watching. I hand my award to The Big Bang Theory (I heart Sheldon!) and give honourable mentions to Modern Family, Cougartown and Parks & Recreation.
Scott: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Could not agree more with honourable mentions. Additional honourable mentions: 30 Rock, My Life On The D-List, The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty.

Far more entertaining off TV than on:
Scott: Home and Away. Oh my.
Carolyn: Two And A Half Men... his arrest is just unfolding but hey, it's Charlie Sheen and it's just GOT TO be more entertaining than on TV.

Best drunken TV host: Karl Stefanovic. His post-Logies hosting of the Today show was utter gold. He should be drunk EVERY DAY! And then come drinking with us.

Richard Wilkins Award for poor research: Richard Wilkins. On Today on the morning of Michael Jackson's death, Dicky reported an internet rumour about Jeff Goldblum dying as fact. Oops.

Award for franchise about vampires that we saw coming a mile off but it still exceeded belief: Twilight.

Couple who are clearly a couple but deny it: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. They are soooooooooo together. Totes.

Worst celebrity couple of 2009
Scott: Rihanna and Chris Brown
Carolyn: I hate everything about Katy Perry and Russell Brand and I can’t even tell you why. Oh hang on, yes I can: because they’re gawdawful!

Taylor of the Year
Carolyn: Swift.
Scott: Roger. (HA!)

Tweeter of the Year
Scott: John Mayer (I think I mean this)
Carolyn: Lindsay Lohan because she’s meltdown-tastic (and because Scott stole John Mayer and I don’t want this list to be too samey)

Worst Tweeter of the Year
Scott: It can only be Diddy. (I have to forgive Spencer Pratt because he unexpectedly started following me - his single redeeming feature!)
Carolyn: I agree. I have deleted Diddy for that very reason... but still his never-ending Tweets continue to appear. How? Damn you, Diddy! I also got rid of Anderson Cooper? Gone. So, let this be a warning to you, warbling Aaron Carter, you're the next to go...
Scott: I totally ditched AC (Aaron Carter, that is)!

Tweet of the Year
Carolyn: @greggrunberg: I don't understand Ashton when he Tweets in English, let alone in French.
Scott: @sarahksilverman: What a fun day! Today was the best anniversary of my family's murder EVER!

Person who has re-conquered TV and has to release some awesome new music now please: Dannii Minogue. (Having Beven, Mark, Vince and Nelson in the video is optional)

Compelling Sports Story of the Year
Carolyn: Tiger Woods delivered EVERYTHING to non-sports fans around the world. Scratches on his face? A car accident IN his driveway? His wife hovering over him wielding a golf club? A mistress in every port? TICK! TICK! TICK! aaaaand TICK!
Scott: Agreed! Although Brendan Fevola and Wayne Carey continue to impress with their efforts.

Insincere Apology of the Year
Carolyn: Chris Brown’s YouTube plea following his bashing of Rihanna. Are you kidding me, dude?
Scott: Daryl Somers after the Hey! Hey! blackface debacle. "I'm sorry IF any people were offended ... blah blah self-promotion, great ratings, Harry Connick Jr loves me, blah, blah"

Unexpected Surprise of the Year:
Carolyn: I cried in Up! but please don’t tell anybody.
Scott: I didn't become a millionaire.

The 2009 Awesomest person on the Planet Award: Alyssa Milano. The 'Brain agree that Twitter has been a revolution if for no other reason than it has put us back in touch with our childhood pal (hey, pals can live in the television, so back off!) and this year selfless Alyssa - star of such faves as Who's The Boss?, Melrose Place, Charmed and the Sheer Cover infomercials - has devoted herself to teaching newbies how the social networking site works. As a reward, we're hoping her new mid-season show Romantically Challenged - which incidentally stars The 'Brain's bestest pal Josh Lawson - is a huge hit. Sadly that will give her less time to Tweet. Sigh. Still, congrats on a fab 2009 from everybody at The 'Brain, Miss 'Lyss!

NEW MOON HAS LANDED

A little indie flick called New Moon is apparently out. Anyway, at the LA premiere of this tiny lil' flick, Peter Facinelli and wifey Jennie Garth reenacted the whole film with Edward, Bella and Jacob dolls for Access Hollywood. Check it out, vamps...

NEW PICS! Two confirmed Twilight couples!!

Twilight Hand Holding Frenzy!

Yesterday the Twilight universe was abuzz over the photos of Robert "Smelly" Pattinson holding hands with Kristen "Possibly A Guy" Stewart. The cute photos were taken in Paris and clearly mean they are dating. Right?

Anyway, the best bit was that the frenzy from fans debating whether it's proof of their love or not prompted their vampy costar
Peter Facinelli to post a pic and caption of his own via his Twitter account...

Co-stars caught holding hands. Guess this picture proves everything. #Pellan

Hilarious!

Pete and Kellan are much better than Rob and Kristen, hey? Team Pellan!

NEW VIDEO! Twilight New Moon trailer

Team Jacob?

Another day, another official Twilight trailer. And for that I say: hurrah!

This time around we've got Edward and Bella kissing, Jacob shirtless, Dakota Fanning as Jane, the Wolf Pack and... did I mention Jacob shirtless??

Observe the Meet Jacob Black teaser...

Yep, it's official: deciding if you're Team Edward or Team Jacob has just been made a tad more difficult!

NEW VIDEO Twilight New Moon: Kristen Stewart SMILES!

WORLD FIRST!

Kristen Stewart smiles*

*This is not a misprint

Behind the scenes of Taylor and Kristen's Entertainment Weekly shoot

Taylor Lautner may not be as recognisable as his Twilight rival Robert Pattinson but he has one-upped him by achieving something the vampire is yet to master: making the usually-gruff Kristen Stewart smile.

Actual smile. With teeth.... which we didn't know she even *had* until now.

The pair are pretty cute together and definitely bring the hotness for their shoot for Entertainment Weekly in the lead up to the Twilight sequel New Moon. Check out the behind-the-scenes footage at EW.com or see it here for yourself...

They really look like they're having fun. Actual fun. Who knew?

Meanwhile, HOW does he jump like this??

Aside from being distracted by Taylor's non-stop flipping, I did manage to catch Kristen admitting Taylor makes her smile. Has she got a happy twin somewhere that they got to stand in for this shoot or something? Just WOW!

Either way, they ended up with a pretty hot looking cover at the end of the day....

... so everybody wins!

NEW PIC! Twilight Barbie dolls

Barbie digs Vampires!

Always thought there was something creepy about Barbie? Well, turns out she may have been long plotting to sink her teeth into your neck.

A few months ago Mattel announced they'd be making a range of Barbie dolls based on the Twilight franchise... and today they've released their first pic of all their hard work. Yes, it's Bella "Barbie" Swan and Edward "Ken" Cullen!

I have to admit I was expecting more vampire-y-ness. It just looks like a c.1978 Barbie and Ken in their hiking outfits... or is that just me?

In any case if you are still all "what the...?" about the situation, Mattel have gone on to do what they do best and over-explain the marrying of the two brands. “Barbie has always been at the forefront of pop culture,” said Lauren Dougherty, a Mattel spokeswoman. “This is a partnership that shows that Barbie is in love with Twilight. It’s fun. It’s fan life. We’ve done Star Trek Barbie. These projects are about unique, high-detail, authentic collectibles.”

O....K....

That's all well and good but let's call a spade a spade: it's also about money.

BATTLE OF THE VAMPS: EDWARD CULLEN vs ANGEL!

WHO WOULD WIN IN A FIGHT?

Twilight takes on Buffy

Buffy The Vampire Slayer
creator Joss Whedon has always had (surprisingly??) nice things to say about the Twilight phenomenon and now he's finally gone on record about the big question we've all been asking: who would win in a fight between David Boreanaz's big bad Angel/Angelus and Robert Pattinson's little shiny Edward Cullen?

“I think Robert Pattinson is really cool. Angel would kick the shit out of him. He’s Angelus. There’s no Edward Cullunus. He just gets shiny in the sun. Boreanaz would have him down in a heartbeat. No offense, cause he’s hot," Joss told MTV News.

No arguement there. Joss went on to reveal that he has long been surprised by his own vampire-idea brilliance...

“I don’t get this whole vampire romance thing. I mean that could never happen. Who would believe that? It seems so stupid. I literally thought that when I created the character of Angel. I thought a vampire romance with a slayer… people are going to laugh me out of the room. They’ll never go for it. Clearly I was wrong. There’s something really timeless about it. I saw Twilight… there’s something primal about that story. You can’t get away from it. It works like gangbusters.”

You can watch the short interview with Joss here... but - and this comes from a place of utter love - you know how there are some people who you just should never hear speak? Yeah, this is that. I've always felt this way about him and I can't explain it - it's like every word that comes out of his mouth is cool and looks great in print... but when he's actually saying it, it's awkward. Up to you...

I also just *love* this Twilight cartoon that coincidentally sums up what Joss is saying (and I apologise to the person who created it originally because I can't find a proper link to you - but happy to fix that if anyone knows?). How cute is it???

Jennifer Love Hewitt begs for Twilight role

Jennifer Loves Robert Pattinson
And she loves to shareI love Jennifer Love Hewitt. I really, really do.
I love her shows (well, before Ghost Whisperer) and movies (Um, sort of) and her music (actually, I really like her music. Post Japanese kiddy pop that is).
But the thing I like most about her is her complete lack of shame. She will say anything, and the fact that it sounds a little on the desperate and/or crazy side doesn’t worry her one tiny bit.
And so it was when she turned up to Comic-Con and found out she had missed meeting the cast of Twilight.
“I wanted to see them so badly, but they were here before I got here, so I was bummed that I missed them,” she (almost) sobbed. “But I’m hoping that some of the True Blood people are still here so that I can see them, 'cause obviously I have a vampire thing.”
Run Ryan Kwanten, RUN!
Maybe JLH can have some vamps written into Ghost Whisperer? Camryn Manheim would make an awesome vampire.
But Love hadn’t finished with her outbursts, no that would be too easy. Next she decided it was a great idea to publicly beg for a role in the next Twilight film:
“I want a part so bad. Any part’s fine,” she titters. “I will be the vampire who carries Robert Pattinson’s luggage in the airport, that is the part that I will play if they need it.”
Her enthusiasm is endearing, no?
But let’s be honest, she has an agent to do this sort of thing for her. And she’s kind of successful. She stars in a hit show (whether we like it or not), which she also produces. At the age of 20 she was also the youngest ever producer of a TV show when she starred in the short-lived Time Of Your Life. She has had aforementioned TV, film and music success. Sure, she’s not partying like it’s 1999 when she was one of the world’s biggest teen stars, but she’s still – surely – above begging for roles in the media.
Robert Pattinson, on the other hand, has starred in one solitary hit movie. Yes, he has at least another three up his sleeve, but in the scheme of things, he should really be carrying his own bags.
I see dead people... but I'd rather see undead people.
Oh, did I act like J-Love had stopped blabbing about how much she loves Robert Pattinson? My bad.
“I’d pass out,” blabs Jen at the mere thought of meeting Rob. “I can’t talk about it, ‘cause I’d pass out. It’s because he’s Edward. Listen, Edward can fly you through the forest. He’s like Aladdin with vampire teeth – there’s magic-carpet rides. He can sing. He can watch you sleep. He plays music. He sniffs your neck. I mean, please!”
He can watch you sleep?
You mean, like a boogie man?
He sniffs your neck?
Is anybody writing this stuff down?
Oh, she’s not done.
“Who’s not Team Edward?” she asks. “There is not a girl in the world who’s not Team Edward! Have you met girls who are not Team Edward? Well, they are not girls! They’re aliens from another planet who should not be allowed to exist.”
No, I’m not a girl. And I’m totally Team The Werewolf One.
Oh J-Love, will you ever learn?
I sort of hope not.

THE TOP 5 NEW VIDEOS! (yes, including that JK wedding entrance!)

From The Vault

Here's The 'Brain's Top 5 YouTube videos from the week that was...

1. Katie Holmes much-hyped performance on SYTYCD. It's OK and everything but somehow it makes her seem MORE robotic not less. There's a whole lot of waffle so tune in at about the two minute mark to catch the lip-synching fun.

2. Someone was certainly thinkin' at Comic-Con and remembered to record the two sneak peeks of the Twilight sequel, New Moon. Given the situation, it's better quality than you'd think (aside from the understandable squealing at the mere sight of Robert Pattinson's face)...

3. Have you ever wondered what happened to Jake Lloyd - you know the kid that played the young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace? No, me neither. However, this is what he looks like now and it's also worth a listen since he's understandably pretty bitter and twisted.

4. Hot on the heels of a series of cool stills, the official Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland trailer finally hit the interwebs. Looks *amazing*!

5. I'll leave you on the *GREAT* video from the wedding of Jill and Kevin Heinz in case you're one of the few people left on Earth that hasn't seen it since it started doing the rounds about a week ago... if that's the case, I strongly suggest you do cos it's just about the best 5 minutes you'll have all weekend (incidentally, the song is "Forever" by Chris Brown - and it's the greatest publicity CB could hope for given the current climate - and he didn't even have to do anything!). Enjoy... seriously:

New Twilight star Xavier Samuel

Vampire X
Aussie cast in Eclipse
Well, well, well, look who has been cast in the third Twilight fillum Eclipse - it's Newcastle star Xavier Samuel!
What? You weren't one of the four people who saw the rather good Aussie flick co-starring Blue Water High/Home and Away actor-types Lachlan Buchanan - why isn't he more famous? - and Rebecca Breeds and Kenny's Shane Jacobson and set in the New South Wales town of the same name?
Well go get it on DVD already.
That way you can pretend you knew Xavier before he was a big star. (Which, despite having cheated, you will)
Plus you'll see him a little bit in the nudd.
Xavier, looking all emo bottom right, with the cast of Newcastle
Adelaide-born Xav, 24, has also had a role in McLeod's Daughters and the flicks September and the upcoming Road Train.
In Eclipse Xavier will play Riley, a newborn vampire sent to kill perma-sulky Bella. Which, of course, Edward isn't all that happy about. All the dudes are so into Bella, which is weird because she gives off a lesbian vibe to me and nobody else seems to notice. Seriously Jacob, not even you?
Never mind.
Anyway, good onya Xavier!

NEWSFLASH Check out the Barbie & Ken Twilight dolls!

Barbie Loves Robert Pattinson too!

What's better than Barbie? PLENTY of things, trust me. There are literally MILLIONS of things better than Barbie.

Still, it is exciting news for Rob Pattinson/doll-enthusiasts that the iconic Barbie and her long-suffering-potential-cheater-soulmate Ken have jumped on board the bandwagon that is Twilight and recreated themselves as human Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen.

Side note: whatever happened to that Aussie boogie-board dude Blaine that Barbs was dating after her high-profile split with Ken? Not mentioning that again? Nope, didn't think so.

Anyway, the press release about the Twilight dolls will either have you in fits of excited giggles or fits of belly laughs at the ridiculousness. It reads thus:

And so the lion fell in love with the lamb. Twilight has quickly become a worldwide phenomenon developing a strong core base of dedicated fans who are drawn to the story of a Romeo & Juliet style romance between mortal (Bella) and vampire (Edward). Who better to capture the young star-crossed love of these two characters than Barbie & Ken? Edward is luminescent with a shimmering complexion and trademark gold eyes. Bella is dressed in her signature outfit from the movie.

The dolls will be on sale later in the year so save up or avoid... depending on how you feel about pale, shimmery dolls with freakish golden eyes.

OMG! What’s next for Edward and Bella?*

The Women is bad, Pixar's Up trailer and more...

DVD review: The Women *

* Helpful one line summary: do NOT watch it

What is it? A 2008 update of a classic comedy flick that pre-dates Sex And The City about four sassy women... that should never have been made and is now on DVD
Who's in it? Meg Ryan (looking back, that should have been the first alarm bell), Jada Pinkett-Smith, Annette Benning and Debra Messing. One's a fashion designer, one's an author, one works at a magazine, one has children and a fifth one is Eva Mendez. It's not even worth me going into which is which, believe me.
Is it the new Sex And The City? Hahahahahahaha. No... but it is the new worst movie ever.
The tops part: I got excited at one point that perhaps the whole point of the movie was that there are no men in it. At all. But then that kinda changed so... hmmm, no best bit.
The untops part: It's hard to pinpoint. In short, it was the most horrifically ridiculous, pointless, poorly-shot, heinously-edited and ludicrously-scripted "movie" that has been made this side of 1990. Plus, Meg Ryan's laughable big hair was seemingly necessary for no other reason than to conceal the scars she picked up years ago when she had her "alleged" facial surgery. But even the giant Marge-Simpson-mega-perm hair could do little to cover up her freakish clown lips. Although, I have to admit my eyes being drawn to the creepy-yet-mesmerising plumped lips actually became sweet relief from the horror of the nothingness that was unfolding on screen.
You actually wrote this review to get me not to watch a movie? Yes.
Couldn't anything have been done to make it better? Yes. The DVD could have snapped in half during the opening credits and we would have been spared the violation that would follow.
Is it really the worst movie ever made? Yes.
Is it worse than Raise Your Voice? Ooooh, unfair question. I naturally tend to exclude anything starring Hilary Duff from lists of this nature because I quite like Hils as a person.
Why did you hire it? It was an accident. I was with a couple of my peeps and we were trying to hire a DVD that we all hadn't seen (someone had seen everything) and that also didn't feature vampires (as per the same person's request). With a repeat viewing of Twilight sadly out of the picture, I've gotta say, it was slim pickings. Anyway, we settled on The Women. It was a kinda good cast and it seemed kinda fun. It wasn't.
Did you all hate it? Yes. We agreed it was the worst movie ever made. But, I will admit that, in its favour, it is at least an hour shorter than Waterworld.
Why are you telling me this now? Well, weeks have passed and today one of my pals went to her local DVD dealership and was horrified when she realised that EVERY COPY OF THE WOMEN WAS OUT.
So? So, right now, at this very moment, someone is suffering through the very movie that we once did. This cannot continue to happen.
But what can I do? Well, the three of us have taken a solemn oath that if we see someone thinking of renting, purchasing or watching The Women for free (or even illegally downloading, I've gotta add), we must speak up and tell them how bad it is. As my pal says, "Bad movies get watched when good people stand by and say nothing. If you see something, say something." Please, join us in our crusade. The end of The Women starts now... and we need your help.

Preview: Pixar's Up trailer

What is it? Pixar’s 3D offering Up, that will be the first animated movie to open at Cannes, y'all!
Is it going to be good? Yuh-huh. Despite being wounded by several disappointing animated flicks of late, this just looks sooooo cute!
Really? I think so. Though I am easily distracted by coloured balloons and talking dogs.

Tops! I love you, Brandon, but could we think about purchasing a new jacket at this point? Is it a case of you having a one-jacket-per-album policy? If so, we might need to have a meeting to change that or perhaps look at getting a better jacket in the beginning if it has to last through 12 months or so of touring and appearances. Just sayin'...

Delta Goodrem Twitters, Rihanna nude, Twilight and more...

So, *that* happened...

A highlights package of some things you need to know about that happened in the world of entertainment today

Delta Goodrem joins Twitter
Following hilarious pressure from fiancé Brian McFadden (CLICK ON ME!), the So Good milk ambassador and part-time popster (whom I heart) caved and set up: http://twitter.com/delta_goodrem The loved-up pair don't shy away from a bit of friendly competition so I can't wait to see the lengths they'll no doubt end up going to in order to get more "followers" than the other. Team Goodrem? Oh, I love them both. I can't decide!

Chris Brown is innocent?
The R&B singer appears to be not guilty of something. He claims he did not leak to the internets the shocking (yawn) nude pics of Rihanna, who he "allegedly" beat up earlier in the year. A representative for the "allegedly" violent star tells Essence.com, "This is both a false and defamatory statement. Chris has not released or 'leaked' any photos of Rihanna (or anyone else for that matter)." In this particular case, I actually think it would be better not to have said anything. It's a bit "thou doth protest too much" given the recent on-again/off-again/we-have-matching-tattoos/punch-up/let's-get-married/what-about-the-court-case? relationship between the pair.

Will Smith for 007

Will Smith is a lot of things and confident is one of them - and good on him for that! The action star has revealed the next thing on his to-do list is to try his martinis shaken and not stirred and be the next James Bond. He then confused things by nominating rapper P. Diddy and fellow actor Jamie Foxx for the role too, saying: "Puff probably lives the most like James Bond. Jamie Foxx got the swag for James Bond. He can sing too, so he can add a new element to Bond. Wooing the ladies...and I think I can guarantee the box office!" Gotta be honest, here. I don't even know what he's saying at this point...

Dakota joins Twilight
Couldn't they find anyone else? Annoying-for-no-real-reason-so-I-hope-I-warm-to-her-eventually Dakota Fanning is officially in the Twilight sequel, New Moon... and there's nothing you can do about it. At all. Sure, she threatened this move for several months but now it's a done deal. The former The Cat In The Hat star has finally arrived in Canada, started filming and has quickly become friends with the hot ensemble cast. Sigh. She plays Jane the Volturi vampire. I guess on the plus side she does already have naturally funny little teeth and may not need to take advantage of the makeup department's astounding array of "teef" to get into character.

"Gotta Tell You", Samantha Mumba
The year was 2000. The chick in the pink corset was Samatha Mumba (who, reader Amy Vagne, is exactly as you recalled: "Irish-African". A gold star to you and the removal of a gold star from her husband Pete who refuted this).

It still cracks me up when she sings, "Your love for maaaaee..." and also, "You're the one for maaaaeee..." Anyway, since then, Samantha got married to JC from *NSYNC's brother, worked in some films you never saw and looks set to have a new album out next year. She seems to have no plans this year. Man, I envy that. Go the Mumba!
