VIDEO! Matt Damon goes mental at Adrian Grenier/Kylie Minogue on Hey Hey & US tour rehearsals

Hey! Hey! It's Kylie

Hey Hey It's Saturday returned for a reunion today and Molly Meldrum played a tiny clip of baby-faced Kylie Minogue singing the awesome "Look My Way" on the show back in the day (which my little self recorded on the family's BETA video back in 1988). It's awesome. Here's the appearance in full so you can relive the love:

Matt Damon loses it!

Also, check out Matt Damon cracking it at Entourage star Adrian Grenier while filming a PSA and Jeremy Piven, erm, trying to calm things. Check it out:

Is it for real? Is it a set up? All I'll say is thems good actors, y'all.

PS: Matt Damon is so great. SO great.

Robbie Williams in studio with Take That

Could it be magic?
Robbie talks Take That!

The original Take That: Mark Owen, Gary Barlow,
Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Robbie Williams

Ever since Take That reunited in 1996 without Robbie Williams there has been constant speculation about whether he would return to the fold.

He mended bridges with the boys after years of bitterness, recorded an intro for a TT tour for "Could It Be Magic" (which he sang lead on originally), went to the football with Gary Barlow ... and then nothing.

But just this week Robbie was surprise guest at Mark Owen's buck's night (Mark was the only member he'd stayed in contact with during the lost years) in New York. And THEN he was spotted going into the very same NY recording studio the boys (including Jason Orange and Howard Donald) are working in.

Well some clever folk from GMTV stopped Sir Bob out the front of the studio to get to the bottom of things ... sort of.

"I'll tell you exactly what we're doing here," he says. "The Winter Olympics are coming up and we're thinking of entering the first five-man bobsleigh team for the UK."

Oh. See for yourself.

But let's be honest, the boys have a live album due at Christmas, and while they say they're in the studio mixing that, it hardly needs Rob to be there on consecutive days.

Could they be working on a studio single for the live album? Or starting work on a whole new record?

No doubt they'll keep us guessing. Bastards.

Psychic Scott says: "The reunion single had better be better than 'Bodies'!"

HEAR! Britney’s new single “3”

30 seconds of "3" (updated: now 3 minutes)

It’s Britney, bitches
So, Britney Spears has just unleashed an annoyingly short preview of her new single “3” on the net.

The song is featured on her new greatest hits compilation “The Singles Collection” (which is to “celebrate” 10 years since her debut with “…Baby One More Time”) and sees her reuniting with super producer Max Martin. Sadly she’s gotten the robot back in to sing it for her.

The really good news? She can count to three!

The full song hits US radio tomorrow.

PS: Brit will be on our shores any second on tour. Brace yourselves!

Friends movie is GO?

THE MOVIE?

Every year since Friends ended, there have been rumours that the entire cast are getting back together for a movie version of their hit show a la Sex And The City. This time the rumours have more substance... according to, erm, Gunther!

At the launch of the Central Perk cafe in London, the man who played the man who served the six main stars coffee, James Michael Tyler, said, "Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen."

Hmmm, so that's a contract signed in blood then?

Even if Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer barely remember his name, the good news is that James is DEFINITELY mega-keen to play Gunther once more. I know. What a shock.

"The one thing I can tell you is that I am definitely on board to do the film. I loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again. I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film," he said.

Look, I hope it's true and everything but I have reservations... but, you know, that doesn't mean I'm not now in a very Friends-tastic mood so let us watch the below clip with the cast singing the theme song:

Cuuuute!

Drew Barrymore: drunkard?

Drew Barrymore: I'm not sober

In news to nobody with eyes, Drew Barrymore has admitted that, well, she's not entirely as sober as people might think. Hmmm, that does help to explain the many pics of her sipping from wine glasses (and, ahem, other things) in recent years. Hic!

Working since she was 11 months old, Drew was a baby-faced regular at Hollywood parties and clubs. She had her first drink at 9, smoked marijuana at 10 and snorted cocaine by the time she turned 12. At 14, she attempted suicide and then entered rehab so it's no wonder one might expect her to be, well, anti-substance.

Instead, she is less strict-like than you'd expect. “No, I’m not [sober]. And I don’t claim to be — quite the opposite. I’ve tried to find the balance. I hope it’s balanced," she told the latest issue of Parade magazine.

The 'Brain hopes so too! Be careful out there, Drew. Hmmm, that pesky Cameron Diaz sure is around a lot. Enabler? Bad influence? Naaaah...

The return of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Sunny side up
The ballad of Danny DeVito

Sunnyboys (and girl): Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney, Danny DeVito and Kaitlin Olson

For all the things The Unibrain agrees on, there is one that we agree on even more than some of the ones we agree on less: It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is the funniest show on TV.

The awesome/all kinds of wrong series about Charlie, Mac, Dennis, Dee and Frank, five morally bereft pals who own an unsuccessful Irish pub in Philadelphia, has just returned to US screens with its fifth season and we couldn't be more stoked! (In Australia Seven seemed to have lost interest with its late-night screenings during season three, but luckily The Comedy Channel has jumped on board).

While the first new episode was a little bit … well, not one of the show’s best … I have no doubt it will get back to its best this week. Right?

The cast are currently touring the US performing a live stage show The Nightman Cometh, based on a musical written by Charlie in the season four finale. How I would love to see.

The Nightman Cometh
Starring as Frank Reynolds is Danny DeVito, who raised twins Dennis and Dee thinking they were his (they weren’t) and refuses to admit paternity of Charlie (who survived a failed abortion – yeah, the show is sick).

I am continually dazzled by the genius of Danny DeVito. Sure, I grew up watching his movies, and have a scary love for his Limoncello (and amazing theme song!) but it is through Sunny that I have realised how truly brilliant he is. When the show needs him to go there, he always goes there.

Danny is also a newbie to Twitter (hooray!) and tickled my fancy no end with the following tweet to his Twins and Junior co-star Arnold Shwarznegger:
@schwarzenegger dinner soon my Bro wanna buy a Sunny Tour T shirt? EXTRA LARGE of course!

Twitter time!
AND he linked to a hi-larious “blooper” from the new series of Sunny, which you can see below. Waddaguy!

Mutya Buena wants to reform original Sugababes

Sourgirls are GO!

(Deal with it Siobhán)

Following the dumping of Keisha Buchanan, the lone founding member of the Sugababes, original 'babe Mutya Buena has announced on UK morning television that getting the original line-up back together would be “amazing”.

Personally, I just don't think the Sugababes is the Sugababes anymore,” she told GMTV. “I mean, it would be different if Keisha had stayed in it and someone else had gone - then it would be the Sugababes. But wow, I suppose now there's no original Sugababes so we should just all reform again.

YES, yes they should!

Mutya left the group in 2005 after the birth of her daughter. While she recorded a well-received solo album and a duet with George Michael, she seems to be more than comfortable with the idea of being a ‘babe - along with Keisha and Siobhán Donaghy - again.

Well you know, we're all grown up,” she chirruped. “I haven't been with the Sugababes for so long, and you know, I've had my years of growing up and learning about what I want in life and getting to look after my daughter. So hooking up with the rest of the girls – I think that could be an amazing idea, definitely.

The Sourgirls, ahem, Sugababes' debut album One Touch. Cheery lot, weren't they?

And of Keisha’s shabby treatment (ie: being dumped by management for new member Jade Ewen) Mutya said: “I'm actually quite disappointed. Obviously the brand name of Sugababes will always carry on. But to say like there's no original in the Sugababes, it just kind of puts it down a bit.

(A report today, thanks “source”, says Keisha gave management a “me or Amelle” ultimatum, which failed to say the least)

So, when can we expect the Sourgirls album?

Central Perk opens in London

Feeling perky
Drink coffee with Friends

Central Perk London
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of hit sitcom Friends (apparently) an actual replica of the gang’s favourite coffee shop Central Perk has opened in London.

Props from the show are on display including Rachel’s (original) wedding dress and Phoebe’s paintings.

Cool, right?

The stupid thing – apart from the cafĂ© opening 15 years too late – is that it will only be open for two weeks.

Why?

DVD promotion or some such nonsense (Okay, the “Extended, Exclusive and Unseen” box set).

Real friends: Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow at the original Perk

On hand for the grand opening was … Gunther. Yes, Gunther. They couldn’t even get David Schwimmer to turn up and he’s a total anglophile. And you know Matt LeBlanc would have turned up for some free donuts. Hey, at least Gunther owned Central Perk, so it makes sense.

Unlike opening Central Perk for only two weeks.

London Friends fans can register online and grab a free coffee at the Broadwick Street, Soho.

NEW VIDEO! Madonna Celebration ad

It's (nearly) here!
Another day, another Madonna Celebration promo

Madonna has been nothing if not thorough in her promotion of her upcoming Greatest Hits album, Celebration, and with its release less than a week away she's really amped things up. Check out the full version of the TV commercial that has just been released:

I did like the tag at the end that says, "for the first time ever"... what? Since her last greatest hits was released?

Wow. So many freaking awesome videos ruined with gross '80s paint splattered all over them.
Also, why are we digitally remastering her old songs (ie. perfection)? Isn't all the digitalness what's ruining most of her new stuff? Just sayin'. Thoughts?

Anyway, I can't help but love Her Madgesty... and admit I kinda can't wait.

Sarah Michelle Gellar baby news!

SMG + FPJ = Charlotte Grace

Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar (who now officially goes by Sarah Michelle Prinze but I'm ignoring that cos I wanted peeps reading this story to know who I'm talking about... so I'm sticking with SMG) and Freddie Prinze Jr welcomed baby girl Charlotte Grace into the world on Saturday, September 19. Awww. Such a cute name! Well done, parents. Not a Peanut nor Waynette in sight. Bless 'em.

Sarah, who has seemingly been pregnant for about 400 years - with only Katie Holmes having a longer celebrity pregnancy - is doing well and the pair are said to be thrilled with the new addition to their family. “The family is over the moon," said her spokesperson.

Congratulations, cuties.

Heather Locklear back on Melrose Place

The saviour returns!
Heather is back, bitches

US TV network The CW has just confirmed that Heather Locklear will be returning to Melrose Place in their update of the ‘90s night-time soap.

Heather, who played advertising executive Amanda Woodward on the original series for six and a bit seasons (she was famously billed as “special guest star” for her entire run), was credited with saving the show, which was struggling until she showed up at the end of the first season.

Heather will hit US screens on November 17, but while nobody is saying how long she’ll stick around, given the show’s so-so ratings we’re thinking the network will do what it can to have her stay put.

We’re ecstatic to have the chance to bring Amanda Woodward back to Melrose Place,” Blab MP2 executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer in their press release. “Heather’s involvement in the show is something we’ve been working on for some time as we couldn’t imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character’s inclusion.”

Wonder who caved on the ol' money issue?

Keisha Buchanan leaves Sugababes

SUGABABES AT WAR
KEISHA OUT!
Sugababes (Mark III) in happier times

There’s been ALL SORTS of drama for the Sugababes over the past two weeks.
After “alleged” arguments with stalwart Keisha Buchanan, Amelle Berrabah disappeared for days (was actually just sulking at her house).
Then came rumours Amelle was leaving the group, to be replaced by one-time Eurovision contestant Jade Ewen. But these were quickly denied … until today when it was announced that it is founding member Keisha who will leave.
Sugababes (Mark I): Keisha, Siobhán, and Mutya

That's right, Keisha, who has warbled alongside all four other members of the three-piece (first with Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy, then with Heidi Range when Siobhán left and finally Amelle when Mutya jumped ship).

Sugababes (Mark II): Enter Heidi

Says faceless management types:
The current line-up of the Sugababes has disbanded. Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah will continue as the Sugababes and will be joined by new member Jade Ewen. They release their album ‘Sweet 7’ on November 23rd through Island Records.
Keisha Buchanan will continue to record for Island Records as a solo artist.
Says Keisha:
I'm sad to say that I am no longer apart of the Sugababes. I've had a great time and have achieved more then I ever thought I would. Although it was not my choice to leave, it's time to enter a new chapter in my life. I have nothing but positive things to say about the girls and I wish them the best of luck. I would like to state that there were no arguments, bullying or anything of the sort that lead to this. Sometimes a break down in communication and lack of trust can result in many different things.

Turns out management had been auditioning members and re-recording the group’s forthcoming album behind Keisha’s back, and left her to deny that Amelle was being sacked when the media presumed it would be the group’s newbie that was being shafted.
It was already odd enough that the three-piece continued with only one original ‘babe. This is sort of like when The Supremes continued into the late ‘70s with no original members left. Did they have hits? No they did not.
That said, the Sugababes aren’t really down the dumper, even if their last (rather good) album wasn’t all that successful.

Homewrecker: new girl Jade
But this whole episode shows pop at its most cynical, with faceless management types wielding their power and treating fans like chumps.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
Now, the record company are still apparently Keisha fans as they have signed her to a solo deal, but I think I speak for the whole world when I say she should find Mutya and Siobhán and start a new group (Siobhán, who spoke out last week about being bullied in the group, can shut up and be thankful for the gig). They could be called the Sourgirls.
Actually, that’s genius.
SOURGIRLS FOREVER!!!

Katherine Heigl is a mother!

Grey's Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley have adopted a 10-month-old girl named Nancy Leigh, who Katherine says will go by the nickname "Naleigh". Naleigh is a special needs baby, born in South Korea and she is named after Katherine's mother Nancy and sister, Margaret Leigh. Today the family released the first pic of their new daughter. Awwww. How cute are they all?

Last week, Katherine told Ellen Dengeneres all about the adoption plans. "She is a special needs baby and because of that, it all moved so much faster," she said. "They wanted to get her to us as quickly as possible."

Katherine also revealed she had always planned to adopt a child from Korea as that's where her own sister was adopted from. Bless!

VIDEO Kylie and ABBA update

HELLO?!
Doesn't anybody care about Kylie and ABBA??!

Sure, The 'Brain did promise our dear loyal cyber-readers better versions of Kylie Minogue's appearance during the ABBA Tribute over the weekend. What we didn't factor in when we made this promise was that there would be only three types of people filming this event for other fans around the world to enjoy. The three types of people were:

1. Peeps filming with their camera held the wrong way... (seriously? for the whole song, dude?)

"When All Is Said And Done", Kylie with BennyABBA

2. Peeps unable to hold a camera still while filming a stationary screen...

"Super Trouper", Kylie

3. Peeps seemingly at the event... but actually further away than I was (and I'm in Australia)...

"Super Trouper", Kylie

We did expect to be able to give you more than this but sadly we're only as good as the three-types of fans illegally recording any Kylie event we're not physically present for...

Poor showing, Minogue-ites. Tsk tsk.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS GOT HITCHED?

Is Robbie Williams secretly married?*

* Expect to know far less on this pressing topic after watching the below interview

Robbie Williams was interviewed by Rove in London last week and the results aired over the weekend. Despite the subject constantly dropping lines like "met the missus" and referring to his mother-in-law... erm, were there any follow-up questions by the host about who the hell this "missus" is?

Nuh.

Robbie and Ayda wait for a UFO... sorry, I mean, plane

Well, plenty of peeps I know are in a tizz wanting to know: is Robbie now a married man??! Just to clear the air, Sir Bob has been dating US actress Ayda Field for three years and that is quite long term for him but, no, he has not tied the knot. He is just affectionately referring to her as his significant other but still.... not one question? Not one statement either side of the interview to clear up who Robbie is talking about for the entire interview?

Nuh.

Oh, OK then...

Meanwhile, it was a fun interview and here at The 'Brain we love the crazy UFO talk.

Sir Bob, you're a lunatic but, O...M...G..., how we loves ya.

SEE Michael Jackson’s This Is It trailer

This is Michael: The Preview

MTV VMAs 2009 news part 3,498,237

It’s hard to believe if you’ve been watching the news (or, indeed, reading The ‘Brain) but the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards were supposed to be a tribute to Michael Jackson (That's right, NOT Kanye “the greatest entertainer of all time” West).

Madonna made a speech, declaring that she – and all of us – had “abandoned” MJ (funny, he never returned my calls) and somehow connected the loss of her mother and his lack of childhood and … look, it was a bit confusing. But it seemed all very heartfelt, if a little Kabbalah-tastic.
A team of dancers danced away to some of MJ’s greatest hits and then Janet Jackson joined them to move her lips along with their hit duet “Scream”. Most disturbing, perhaps, was the fact that the dancers behind her wore Michael’s trademark surgical masks.
In equally exciting news, Michael’s dad Joe (no doubt as a representative of Ranch Records) and brother Jermaine (he of the tribute concert we had to have that no stars will turn up to) were both in attendance.

As nice as all this tribute stuff was (and it might have been) the non-Kanye/Taylor/BeyoncĂ© highlight of the VMAs (for non-Twihards) was the preview for the upcoming doco/concert flick Michael Jackson’s This Is It.

The two and a half minute trailer features MJ performing, rehearsing, beat boxing, spelling (“L-O-V-E”) and sneak peeks of the mystery “Dome Project” ("Thriller"!) and even his Aussie guitarist Orianthi talking about his “presence”.

Watch it now! Then watch it again!

I know the plan is obviously to have the DVD out for Christmas, but do we think this odd “2 Weeks Only” thing will mysteriously be extended “by popular demand” down the track? And does anybody else refuse to purchase movie tickets months ahead? I prefer to do that about three minutes before I see the movie, thanks.

This is a sign off o’clock

Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Beyoncé MTV VMAs 2009 update

Beyoncé and Taylor together on stage

Kanye kicked to the curb
; cries in caps

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards have come to an end and so much has already happened since Kanye West took to the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video to declare that BeyoncĂ© Knowles should have instead won.

The most hilarious thing about Kanye's outburst?

It was all for nothing.

Beyoncé went on to win Video Of The Year later in the night.

As she accepted her award, gracious Ms. Knowles invited
Taylor back on stage to finish her speech.

"I remember being 17 years old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments of my life," B said. "So I would like for
Taylor to come out and have her moment."

Said
Taylor, "Maybe we can try this again ... thanks to all of my fans on Twitter and MySpace and everyone who came out to my shows this summer."

It was a happier end to the night, which had proven rather traumatic for the 19-year-old country star.

Jay-Z’s DJ, Neil Armstrong, tweeted that he spotted Taylor and her mother in tears backstage.

@djneilarmstrong just so y'all know, homegirl taylor and her moms was in the back crying :(

That’s right: EVIL KANYE MADE TAYLOR CRY.

At the press conference after winning her award, Taylor spoke about the stage crash.

I was really excited, because I had just won the award. And then I was really excited because Kanye West was onstage,” she said. “And then I wasn’t so excited anymore after that.

But Swifty wasn’t about to get into a slanging match with Kanye, saying she was a fan of his music but had never met him before. “I don’t want to start anything because I had a great night tonight.

Adding with a laugh, “It’s definitely been an interesting night.”

MTV has confirmed that Kanye was "asked to leave" the event, but not before he was booed by the audience when he returned to his seat.

Pink – who we LOVE – apparently had to be held back by security when she spotted Kanye. GO PINK!

Later in the show the audience booed when Diddy read Kanye’s name as a nominee for Best Male Video.

Kanye, whose arrogance is a poor cover for his low self-esteem, was obviously stunned by the fact that the people had turned on the greatest entertainer of all time (on the very night that Madonna and Janet Jackson paid tribute to Michael Jackson) and rushed to his blog to “apologise” … ALL IN CAPSLOCK AS USUAL.

Wow, so heartfelt.
