Central Perk opens in London

Feeling perky
Drink coffee with Friends

Central Perk London
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of hit sitcom Friends (apparently) an actual replica of the gang’s favourite coffee shop Central Perk has opened in London.

Props from the show are on display including Rachel’s (original) wedding dress and Phoebe’s paintings.

Cool, right?

The stupid thing – apart from the café opening 15 years too late – is that it will only be open for two weeks.

Why?

DVD promotion or some such nonsense (Okay, the “Extended, Exclusive and Unseen” box set).

Real friends: Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow at the original Perk

On hand for the grand opening was … Gunther. Yes, Gunther. They couldn’t even get David Schwimmer to turn up and he’s a total anglophile. And you know Matt LeBlanc would have turned up for some free donuts. Hey, at least Gunther owned Central Perk, so it makes sense.

Unlike opening Central Perk for only two weeks.

London Friends fans can register online and grab a free coffee at the Broadwick Street, Soho.
